“For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.” (Psalm 100:5, NLT)

God has been very good to SCC and the Sunday School program. It is the goal of the program to help the children grow in their love for God and others. As they mature, we work on helping them understand what obedience to God means.

“You must love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”   (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NLT)

To reach this goal the Group Publisher’s program – Faith Weaver – is used for grades Pre-K to grade 7.  This program uses a 3 year cycle to teach the bible. There is a Scripture verse each week and a lesson that applies the message of the weekly passage to the child’s life.  We use a send home sheet called “Family Connect” that allows the child and his/her parents to apply the scripture their daily lives.  The summer program is called “Junior church” and the church family is asked to volunteer one Sunday to teach so the SS teachers can have a rest.  This year there will be lessons available for the volunteers.

SUNDAY SCHOOL begins the Sunday after Labor Day and ends Fathers Day. JUNIOR CHURCH begins the Sunday after Father’s day and ends the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.  Rally Day and Father’s Day are special activities.

The children also are involved in lighting the Advent Candles, a Christmas performance,  Palm Sunday, and an Easter performance.

Christian Education meets the third Sunday of odd months after the 10:00 AM service. The Sunday school teachers also meet 2-3 times a year to discuss the program and plan Rally Day and closing activities.
